What A Mess We Are In
Speaking truth to power...
This forgets that truth comes from power.
And since we have discounted tradition,
and marginalized and dismantled reason,
power, and so truth, rely on the tools
of emotional appeal, and so the mob rules.
Words and ideas, in the wind twist and turn,
so facts and arguments depend on how hot your passions burn.
